Desk Pop upper details:
The upper used in the video was a 12″ Match with the following upgrades. These upgrades can be selected on any of our uppers or barrel lengths. In the first dropdown box, Select Super Safety ready for Super Safety or Atrius Selektor. Select FRT or full auto ready for use with any drop in FRT units or a full auto lower or a lower with a drop in auto sear, lighting link, etc.
Note that although the quiet bolt upgrade was not in use in the Desk Pop video, it can be selected and is generally recommended (especially if shooting suppressed).
The VIP Package recommended when using a Full Auto, FRT, or Super Safety.
The polishing we do helps with feeding when rates of fire are elevated. Here’s the video of the chamber blending for those of you who want to do your own polishing.
TLDR version of tuning:
Use CCI Mini Mags for tuning. Pull the trigger VERY lightly. Too hard and you’ll get a dead trigger. The tiny 22lr cartridge is moving your finger out of the way to reset the trigger.
FRT: Tune the weight kit from light to heavy in semi auto until good cycling is achieved. Adjust the FRT trip to allow the locking bar to release the hammer but not hold the bolt open. (VIDEO HERE). Torque to 12-15in-lb. Insert the trip and weight and try FRT mode with LIGHT TRIGGER PRESSURE. Adjust as needed (most need minor adjustments at most)

Function test with DRY Fire block to verify reset and hammer drop. Most builds require no adjustment. Insert the trip and weight and try SS mode with LIGHT TRIGGER PRESSURE. Use NO OIL internally in the weight.
Magazines and ammo:
MAGS: we recommend Kriss Mags with a bolt catch. Black Dog mags are ok if you do not need last round bolt hold open that works with the bolt catch.
FRT/SS requires good quality ammo with enough power to cycle the bolt.
SUBSONIC: We recommend the Cascade 50gr Subsonic as seen in the Desk Pop Video.
HIGH VELOCITY: We recommend CCI Mini Mags or Aguila SuperExtra or SuperExtra HP or Armscor 36gr

We generally recommend tuning from light to heavy, but heavy to light as shown in the video does work as well.
FRT:
Screw torque: 12in-lb (up to 15in-lb can be used if needed). Use no oil on the block to bar interface or the trip may slide in use.

Super Safety and Atrius Selektor:
Most builds do not require adjustment on the screw. The front screw adjusts reset on the rearward travel of the bolt only. Lengthening (backing out counterclockwise) will reset the trigger sooner. Too much and it’ll increase reset force and potentially bind up. Tune for lowest reset force when hand cycling with the dry fire block. The screw in the rear touching the steel bar is not an adjustment screw, it only holds the bar and block together.
If timing on the forward stroke needs to be adjusted, the tab behind the steel bar can be filed/milled off and the bar slid to adjust by loosening the assembly screw and retightening to 12in-lb. Needing to do this is exceedingly rare.

A note about SS trigger components:
Super Safety components vary greatly in quality and dimensions depending on source. Aside from tuning, the one of the most overlooked factors to a successful SS AR22 build is the trigger cut.
How to profile the Super Safety trigger properly for AR22 use:
Note: this procedure requires a new unmodified trigger, not a pre-cut trigger.
- Cut the right side of the trigger normally with the standard 45 degree cut
- For the left side start by only taking a few light passes using a file or sandpaper to barely round the corner, only removing a very minimal amount of material
- Install trigger and fully assemble the gun (including upper and trip kit) and perform function test in Super Safe mode using the dry fire block.
- If you are unable to pull charging handle back due to hammer binding or unable to pull the trigger to drop the hammer then remove trigger and continue to round the left side of the trigger taking a few light passes at a time. After each light pass reassemble and function test using the fry fire block. Repeat the process until SS mode passes function test.
- Once gun is able to pass the function test in SS mode with- the trigger held down as tight as possible, polish the left side with some fine grit sandpaper.
It is critical to only file the left side of the trigger based on function testing your specific fully assembled gun. Testing the lower only is not recommended.
